yama, Japan. He lives and works in Berlin and Hiroshima. He graduated with a degree in fine arts from the Hiroshima City University in 2001 and with a degree in sculpture from WeißenseeKunsthochschule Berlin in 2010. He received a grant from the Pola Art Foundation in Tokyo in 2008 and the Mart Stam Förderpreis in Berlin

in 2009. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Europe and Japan. The exhibition in preparation at Naprzeciw will be his first individual one in Poland.

 

He often constructs his works from ready-made objects, which when taken out of their own context constitute new structures, bringing about new meanings. In many realizations

everyday objects -fragments of reality- are subjected in the studio to laboratory observations, transformations, often also

combustion. The resulting objects, converted in this way, become parts of further artistic play. The latest works being prepared for the Specificity Banality exhibition are dedicated to the Naprzeciw space.
